STYRIA – THE CENTER OF FAMOUS WINE PRODUCTION IN AUSTRIA

Austria is one of the biggest wine producers in the world that has spread the wine through Austria export import . There are 4 regions in wine producing in Austria; Lower Austria, Styria, Burgenland, and Vienna. Every region is divided into 19 designated wine growing zones. Lower Austria covers the wine growing areas in north and west of Vienna, Burgenland covers south and east of Vienna, Styria covers south and west of Burgenland. The Styrian as the focus of wine areas are divided into three sub regions which are Southeastern Styria, Western Styria, and Southern Styria.
In Styria, the vine cultivating is almost interrupted since imperial times. The vineyard is perfect growing in such Southern Europe climate. It’s also popular for its Sauvignon Blancs with structure, elegance, and fruit-forward profile rivaling the Old or New World had. Gamlitz, Leutschach, Silberberg (which is a well-regarded winemaking school), Ehrenhausen and Kitzeck are the popular winemaking villages here. There is a real regional wine called Schiller that is placed in about 1800 acres of vines in western Styria. Made from the Blauer Wildbacher grape, these kinds of grapes has different salmon color and very high content of acidity.
The citizens here do not even worry about the exporting in Export import Austria , since the majority of small amount produced is mostly consumed in the local vineyard and must be consumed when young. Almost all wines are grown in Southeastern Styria’s 3400 acres that are originally taken from less than an acre large. So, with extra more wine sold in the local market that is called Buschenschanken, the winemaking is basically a side profession. In other area namely Kloch, some good Tamimer white wines are produced and they are famously known for their brand called ‘Klocher Tramimer Schutzmarke’.
